Four men were killed in mob attacks last week in Tripura, over rumours on social media that kidnappers were on the prowl, cutting organs out of children to sell them. More such attacks were reported from Maharashtra and Gujarat.
As the BJP-led central government bears down on WhatsApp to take action, it has been revealed that the party’s own minister in Tripura Shri Ratan Lal Nath (State Education Minister), ended up “validating” deadly fake news by repeating it in the presence of grieving and angry villagers.
The news channel NDTV, uploaded a video showing him doing the same.
In turn Shri Ratan Lal Nath blames CPM for framing him and maligning his reputation.
The State Police advisory contradicted the Minister and confirmed that the kidney & liver were found intact inside the ded body of the 11 yrs old child.
